The County of Nevada and Sierra Business Council in the Central Sierra Nevada region have received a grant of $650,000 to improve their climate resilience. The project focuses on setting up regional collaborations, strengthening the Climate Transformation Alliance, and creating a Nevada County Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan to prioritize projects that tackle climate risks. This grant is part of a $21.7 million state initiative that supports 16 regional partnerships and aligns with the county's safety and sustainability goals. The Sierra Business Council views this grant as a catalyst for climate initiatives, reflecting a shared vision for resilience in Nevada County and the Tahoe Region.
